Having fun on a rainy day

How much fun is a rainy day?
Well, if you give up the notion of curling up under a blanket with a good book and a hot drink, which of course if you have young kids is not at ALL possible, you can rediscover your love of puddles.

Or at least stand close by while the kids rediscover theirs, hehehe

Oh yeah, gotta love a Melbourne winter, sigh....

Melbourne winter? I just realized that Australia is in it's winter months right now :) haha!

It's just so different from where I am at, in north Texas, where it is a dry summer and averaging 90-105 degrees F! Oh how I wish it would cool off here with some cool rain :)

I think I'll go jump in the pool now! Oh and your little ones are just precious :)

Have a nice day!

That top pic is the coolest shot of wee puddle jumper!! Pity they don't have winter photo competitions like they do for summer months...

Not so cool however when they fill their runners up with water by stepping in the puddles on the way home from school - then you spend the next 12 hours trying to dry them out so they can do it again the next day!!! Sophie says HI!!!!

Yes, all kids love puddles don't they?! Ooh, a hot summer day would be nice right now....

You sent them out without knee high rubber boots? For satisfactory splashing you really need the boots. And you probably won't read this because it's an older post.....

The oldest had his gumboots on for sure, but he was also wearing waterproof over pants and he'd pulled the cuffs down over his boots. Can't remember what the lil fella was wearing, he was just over 1 yr at this point and his older brother's old boots didn't fit yet and we hadn't bought him his own yet. But it's now that time of year again, and he's due for a bigger pair.....again! The child now has huge feet :)
